New Zealand

It's been a while since my last post and that can only mean one thing, I've been in New Zealand. My Internet access has been somewhat between very little to nothing. I tried stopping at most McDonalds just to check emails and whatsapp messages but its very difficult to keep track of what is going on around you where you find yourself in different towns every morning.
To be very honest with you all I wasn't really too keen on the idea of New Zealand. I booked it just like everything else was booked last minute and the only way I could make my way back home was to complete the trip. I'm glad I did, the country is beautiful just like everybody else I prefer the scenery in the South Island but I thought the north island was more habitable. So many days we found ourselves driving through roads that only belonged to us we sometimes wondered wether we were taking the right road and at one point we drove through 5 hours of winding roads to learn that it is called the "Forgotten world highway" we were the only car and running very very low on fuel. Never again we'd like to experience that. We booked a camper van to do this trip in but when we arrived to pick up the vehicle we found out the van was upgraded to motorhome complete with toilet and shower. Not something we were expecting but it was a lovely surprise to start our trip with. There is only so much I can write about my two weeks through the beautiful nature of New zealand but some of the highlights were: showering in freezing cold fresh water rivers, parking the van somewhere in the middle of the night to find ourselves next to the most beautiful rivers and woods the next morning, stopping at fruit markets to buy fresh organic fruit just picked from the farms, visiting fox glacier where we drove through the mountains to find ourselves above the clouds, meeting some awesome people who shared their stories and experiences along the way, learn that we were the only two young people with a motorhome (we actually made it our mission to count the number of youngish people who had rented motorhome at it was less than 5), kayaking in Wanaka and watching the most breathtaking sunset on the beach in this beautiful city, we also managed to shower in some beaches where it was too cold to swim or sunbath and we were called "brave" by some passers. The whole shower situation was funny as I'd like to shower twice a day but when you are traveling in a motorhome that can be a little difficult, luckily we had a shower but was never used the bathroom space was too small and too cramped to take a shower so we just settled on using the toilet at one point we showered in a petrol station where a $4 token was purchased for 6 minutes of hot water. I enjoyed all that it was all part of the experience and who knows when again ill get a chance to shower in a petrol station. Huh?

I'm currently sitting on very uncomfortable seats in Sydney waiting for my flight to Singapore.
